September 2020

Ruth and Max Bloomquist

September is almost here, and we want get a head start on letting you know what we might be up to.

Streaming Concerts: As you may know, we have been Live-streaming every Saturday night since the end of March. Two of those (including the very first one on March 28) were in cooperation with a music venue that is close to our hearts: Seven Steps Up in Springlake, Michigan. Another one was in cooperation with the Black Hawk Folk Society in lieu of playing for their July festival that was cancelled due to the pandemic. We have been enjoying these weekly online concerts and hope that you have, too. You can join us Every Saturday night at 8:00 Eastern Time. This link will get you to the right neighborhood:

We do accept your advance requests from our known repertoires, so make a plan and let us know what you want to hear and we will try to get it on the playlist.

You can also use the same link to find all of our past live-streaming concerts to watch whenever you please whether or not you are logged in to Facebook.

Live In Person Events: We played one outdoor concert in August for a very kind and socially distanced audience in lovely Kaleva, Michigan. We had a very good time, and they have asked us to return for their concert series next summer.

We have one outdoor house concert scheduled on Labor Day, September 7. The location is a farm near Albion, Michigan. There are still a few seats for this limited audience intimate but socially distanced outdoor show. If you are interested in attending, please email us at max@ruthbloomquist.com and we will put you in touch with the host. It promises to be a very good time.

In the meantime you can search for us on your favorite music streaming platforms like Pandora, Spotify, Apple, and Amazon Music. Search for both Ruth Bloomquist AND Ruth and Max Bloomquist. All of our music is out there.

Thanks for reading. Thanks for your support. Thanks for staying safe out there.

"They are charming, traditional, and skilled musicians. You are in for a real treat! Ruth stands out in particular with her vocals, which are rich, warm, and mellifluous. Though the Bloomquists have been at this since the 70s, I only first heard them perform a year ago, and when Ruth started singing, I was blown away. Fantastic."
